Nude Foods Market, Boulder’s first zero-waste grocery retailer, has launched MishiPay’s revolutionary mobile self-checkout solution as the primary payment method in their store, instead of conventional registers. The technology enables shoppers to shop and checkout using their own cell phone, eliminating the need to waste time waiting in a line to pay at a conventional checkout.
MishiPay’s Scan, Pay & Go technology enables in-store shoppers to use their own mobile device to scan the QR codes on products in the Nude Foods Market store to add them to their virtual basket. Then, when they have completed their shopping, they can checkout instantly with the tap of a button using a variety of convenient digital payment methods, and can then simply leave the store. The customer receives a digital receipt that is also emailed to them, cutting out the paper, ink and hardware that is wasted on producing printed paper copies for shoppers in a conventional checkout experience. The next time they visit the store, shoppers can use MishiPay to register any glass storage jars they have returned, and receive an automatic account credit.
This new in-store experience elevates overall customer satisfaction and convenience by enhancing speed of service. The technology also enables the store associates to improve in-store efficiency by maximizing their time on the shop floor, ensuring the best experience for Nude Foods Market shoppers.
“We hate waste of all types. The average American produces 1,704 pounds of trash each year, and our mission is to bring this number down in every way we can. Deploying a streamlined, environmentally friendly checkout solution for our customers was a key aim when we created our brand” said Verity Noble, Co-Founder of Nude Foods Market. “Conventional checkout tech consists of lots of wasteful plastics, paper and inks. By partnering with MishiPay, we have cut out the need for store checkout hardware, creating a checkout experience that is good for the environment, good for shoppers and good for our daily store operations.”
MishiPay founder and CEO Mustafa Khanwala said: “We love the approach that Nude Foods Market takes to reducing the impact of consumers on the environment. We are proud to be their checkout solution of choice and to be playing our part in reducing the environmental and financial impact of checkout technology, whilst making the in-store journey quicker and more enjoyable for shoppers.”
Nude Foods Market’s launch of MishiPay follows the deployment of the technology by a host of retailers across the world during 2021 including Paradies Lagardere, Flying Tiger Copenhagen, MUJI, and SPAR.
