Whether it’s handmade gelato, carbon-neutral gin, award-winning rum cake or fresh filled pasta, Pantree operated an online ecommerce website to deliver the best of Britain to customer’s own homes. Pantree was looking to make an expansion to the offline world.
The challenge
Pantree decided to move to physical locations with a clear differentiation. Pantree aimed to evolve the convenience store concept by introducing Pantree’s artisan Micro Markets; unattended 24-hour mini stores inside residential buildings.
Pantree needed a technology provider for a self-service technology to enable residents to discover and purchase the very best food, snacks, beverages and convenience items, 24/7.
MishiPay
Pantree selected MishiPay as the only payment method inside the store with Scan & Go and the Kiosk.
Shoppers can buy their favorite foods and shop in comfort with MishiPay’s Scan & Go App. Shoppers start simply by scanning a QR code that opens the MishiPay webapp, scan the product’s barcode, and simply pay with the tap of a button on their phone. As they scan, they can keep track of the basket total and check offers that apply to the products.
Alternatively, shoppers can also use the MishiPay self checkout kiosk. With a 10” screen, this type of kiosk made perfect sense for the space deprived Micro Market. Fitted between the rest of the products, shoppers can scan the items and pay on the terminal with the option of getting a printed receipt or receiving it via email.
MishiPay captures 100% of the store transactions, as it is a cash-free store. MishiPay integrated completely to Pantree’s POS system making any product, price and promotion changes immediately available on the App and Kiosk. After the payment is completed, Pantree receives inventory updates directly from MishiPay and all quantity is updated automatically giving full and clear visibility to Pantree.
Finally, MishiPay also provides valuable insights about the repeat customers and habits. As MishiPay captures all data, Pantree has access to repeat customers, user’s email addresses that complete their omnichannel marketing strategy.
User feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with customers stating that they no longer have to rely on delivery applications for food, as they can visit the store 24/7 and use self checkout to quickly grab and go. Even during rush hour, customers can use their own phones to checkout, reducing waiting time to zero.
